A Quiet Kind of Luxury

Santana draperies in Ivory Snow paired with Zara roman shades in Frosted Snow. Project CWF68281.

01 — Design Vision

Soft architecture, led by coastal light

This Southern California residence called for window treatments that feel considered, not decorated. The brief was simple: warm, textural, unfussy — and tailored enough to hold its own against clean-lined millwork, white oak floors, and brass and iron finishes throughout the home.

The narrative pairs two textiles: the Zara collection in Frosted Snow as privacy-lined roman shades at smaller punched windows, and the Santana collection in Ivory Snow as an unlined double pinch pleat drapery across the home's expansive glazing and sliding doors.

Roman shades: framing the light

Flat, Tailored Face
A crisp, unbroken face with no puckering — Zara's 100% polyester reads clean and architectural against minimal walls and trim.
Waterfall Fold
Rather than stacking into hard pleats, the shade cascades in soft, uninterrupted folds when raised and hangs gracefully flat when down.
Privacy Lined
An inner privacy lining diffuses strong Southern California sun, adds structural body and preserves privacy while keeping a warm ambient glow.

Draperies: movement & softness

Double Pinch Pleat
A hand-formed header that folds crisply at the top and releases into graceful, consistent fullness down the entire length of the panel.
Unlined Construction
Left unlined, the 50% linen / 50% viscose blend filters rather than blocks daylight — the luminous quality that defines coastal interiors.
Floor-Length Drop
Full-height panels on slim black iron rods create a modern, tailored contrast against warm ivory fabric and white oak floors.

04 — In the Home

Wall-to-wall coverage in the primary suite

Primary bedroom with drapery across a full sliding glass wall
Across the primary bedroom's sliding glass wall, the Santana drapery runs edge-to-edge — panel after panel of double pinch pleat fullness. It stacks cleanly to one side by day and glides shut for evening privacy without ever feeling heavy.
Primary suite drapery beside an arched dressing mirror
Pinned high on a slim black iron rod beside the arched dressing mirror, the drapery reads as architecture first — a tactile backdrop for the room's curves, white oak and warm brass accents.
“The floor-to-ceiling gesture transforms an entire glazed elevation into a warm, textural backdrop.”

Santana is woven from an even blend of natural linen and viscose — linen brings structure and a gentle slubbed texture while viscose adds a soft hand and fluid drape, finished unlined with double pinch pleats so fullness falls in soft, even folds. Zara is engineered from 100% durable polyester in Frosted Snow, providing dimensional stability and a clean architectural drape ideal for flat waterfall roman shades with privacy lining.
